The 07 Storm PeeWee A hockey team hosted the 07 Little Caesars-Farmington Hills hockey club this afternoon at the Polar Palace in Lapeer, Michigan.
With end-to-end action throughout the game, the Storm found themselves controlling most of the action early, out-shooting their visitors 13-5 in the first stanza. In addition to the 13 shots, the Storm also were the unlucky recipients of four goal-posts, that assisted the Little Caesars netminder in keeping the game scoreless.
Midway through the second period, Lapeer finally found the back of the net to take a 1-0 lead. #91 Timmy Stull took control of the puck behind his own net and found #12 Cade Doud with a crisp break-out pass out of the their own zone. From there, Doud found a streaking Jordan Davis, and #5 let wrist-shot sail over the glove of the Little Caesars goalie. Unfortunately, the Storm lead was short lived, as Little Caesars tied things up less than 30 seconds later.
The two teams held each other scoreless in the 3rd period and resulted in a 1-1 tie for the divisional match-up.
Josh Eager was solid all game long in net for the Storm, stopping 22/23 shots faced. The customary Storm hard-hats were awarded to #97 Avery Cook and #2 Cory Hall, for excellent efforts on both ends of the ice.
